Contest Rules
Contest is open to children between 6-14 years of age. To enter, send us an essay in your own words (between 100-500 words) describing your vision for your new room and why Kids' Pages should redecorate your room. Each entry must be hand-written by the child submitting the essay and we must receive it by December 31, 2004. Essays will not be judged on penmanship. At least one photo of the child's room must be submitted with the essay and the entry form, photo(s) and essay must be stapled together. Neither Kids' Pages nor the Sponsor Affiliates are responsible for lost, late, damaged, delayed, destroyed, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, mutilated, or postage due mail. Incomplete or illegible entries are not eligible. All entries become the property of Kids' Pages and will not be returned.
GRAND PRIZE AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE: Grand Prize - A redecorated child's bedroom, including selected furniture, lamp, rug, window coverings, a mural, bedding and painting. Dates when room design will take place are at Kids' Pages sole discretion. Approximate value: $5000.00.
WINNER: Winner will be determined by a panel of judges, on or about January 5, 2005, from among all eligible entries received. Essays will be judged on effort and creativity. Decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to this contest. Odds of winning are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received. Winners must comply with all rules as published. Potential Grand Prize winner will be notified by phone and/or UPS and will be required to complete, sign and return, a notarized Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability, an Acknowledgment Release and Consent and, where legal, Publicity Release. Potential Grand Prize winner is required to return documents within seven (7) days from the postmark date on the prize notification letter. Failure to comply with this requirement or return of prize/prize notification as undeliverable will result in forfeiture of prize, and an alternate winner will be selected.
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: THE FOLLOWING TERMS & CONDITIONS APPLY: Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges. The Grand Prize Winner is solely responsible for any local, state, or federal taxes resulting from winning and accepting a prize. All aspects of the prizes are NON-TRANSFERABLE and no substitutions are allowed except at Kids' Pages sole discretion. No cash equivalent or exchange of prize is permitted.
ELIGIBILITY: The sweepstakes is only open to legal residents of the U.S. To be eligible, entrants must be between the ages of 6-14 years as of December 31, 2004. Employees of Kids' Pages, the Sponsor Affiliates or any of the members of their immediate family are not eligible to participate.
ENTRANTS, BY THEIR PARTICIPATION, AND WINNERS, IN ACCEPTING THEIR PRIZES, AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS KIDS' PAGES AND THE SPONSOR AFFILIATES FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS AND LIABILITIES AND WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS OF LIABILITY OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER AGAINST KIDS' PAGES AND/OR THE SPONSOR AFFILIATES. NEITHER KIDS' PAGES NOR THE SPONSOR AFFILIATES MAKE ANY WARRANTY, REPRESENTATION, OR GUARANTEE, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, IN FACT OR IN LAW, RELATIVE TO THE USE OF ANY PRIZE INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, QUALITY, MERCHANTABILITY, AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. FURTHER, NO RESPONSIBILITIES ARE ACCEPTED FOR ANY ADDITIONAL EXPENSES, OMISSIONS, DELAYS, RE-ROUTING, OR ACTS OF ANY GOVERNMENT OR AUTHORITY.
The winner, in accepting their prize, consent to the use of their name, address (city, state), photographs and likenesses for purposes of advertising, trade and promoting in any and all media on behalf of the sponsors, without further compensation.
